Tricks On How To Play Burned Xbox 360 Games

Most gamers simply want to enjoy playing their games. Becoming a computer scientist isn't necessarily something that they feel compelled to do simply to better understand how the games are made. The fact that they play well and provide hours of entertainment is usually enough. Having said that, however, if you are thinking about burning backup copies of your Xbox 360 games for protection, you should have at least a modicum of understanding about how the games are put together and how to play burned Xbox 360 games.
Xbox 360 games, and many others for that matter, are burned in a special manner, which is referred to a dual layer. This dual layer technology is the primary reason why it is difficult to learn how to burn Xbox 360 games and play them. Dual layer DVDs have two layers to record data on. Microsoft began using the two layer technology for recording their games. One layer, called the ISO file holds all of the data required to define the game. It is the game's program. The DVD file, on the other hand, is a set of instructions telling the DVD burner how to copy the ISO data correctly onto the DVD disc. Are you with me so far?
In order for you to make a clean playable copy of the game disc, you need to have both of these files, which can be taken from your original game disc or downloaded from the web. (The downloading option is illegal, so don't do it.)
Once you have access to these two files, learning how to burn and play Xbox 360 games is straightforward. You need to open the DVD file and make a copy of the "Layer Break" number for that file. This number is critical because it instructs your computer as to where to stop recording the DVDs first layer, and to begin recording the second one. Copying the number is easy. Simply use the Ctrl-C trick.
After you've done that, you should download a program called imgBurn. This is an excellent DVD copying utility. Once you have installed the imgBurn software, run it and open the SETTINGS tab and locate the LAYER BREAK section. Paste the number that you copied above, where indicated. Now the software knows where the layers separate.
When that's done, you're almost there. Select imgBurn's BURN FROM IMAGE option, and then select ISOfile to burn it to the DVD disc. This burning process usually takes about three-quarters of an hour, depending upon the complexity of the game being burned. When the process is over, you will have a new game backup that can be played on your Xbox 360 system, just a though it were the original disc. You've now protected your original game, and can play the game endlessly without fear of damaging it.
This simple way of burning games is perfectly legal when used to make backup copies of your games to protect your investment. Just don't get cocky and start making free copies for your friends, or trying to get rich selling them. That, my friend, is illegal and could get you some time in the penitentiary. Not really a good idea. Now that you know how to play burned Xbox 360 games, enjoy them without worrying about damaging them. You're protected.
